BREAKING: Pritzker Torches Trump in Texas: “He’s Turned the People’s House Into a Nut House”
Trump’s reflecting pool obsession just got turned into the most brutal metaphor of the year, and it came from JB Pritzker on a stage deep in red-state Texas.
Speaking to the Texas Democratic Party convention, the Illinois governor delivered one of the sharpest takedowns of Trump’s second term yet. “Trump has turned 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue from the people’s house to a nut house, where he’s retreated to the last and only respite of the desperate and the damned: paranoid self-delusion,” Pritzker said.
Then came the line that landed hardest. “Donald Trump is a reflecting pool of our politics. You can paint the bottom blue, but it won’t conceal the polluted water above.”
The metaphor cut deep because it’s rooted in reality. Trump has spent weeks ranting that the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was sabotaged by “Criminal, Radical Left Vandals” and blaming shadowy enemies for algae. Pritzker took that spectacle and held it up as a mirror to the presidency itself.
He didn’t stop there. “He’s accomplished in his presidency what he never achieved in his business career. He’s finally making a profit,” Pritzker said, calling out the open corruption of the Trump White House.
And he named the cruelty directly, telling the crowd that blatant racism doesn’t make you tough, it just makes you a racist, and that the constant barrage of insults from the president’s social media account isn’t some new brand of politics, it’s just mean.
Pritzker’s message was simple: most Americans choose kindness over cruelty, and it’s time for leaders to say so plainly. In a room full of Texans who’ve watched Trump’s chaos up close, it brought the house down.
